I fought unbeleivably hard to stop him winning in North Norfolk in 2005 when I was vice chairman of North Norfolk Lib Dems and a District Councillor. In my opinion though he was on a hiding to nothing. North Nortfolk Lib Dems are as organised a local party as you will find anywhere in the UK and Iain didn't stand a chance with a popular MP like Norman Lamb in North Norfolk.
